STL – Bags Corporate Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) Award at BESAFE’s 4thNational Annual Conference on ” Sustainable Behaviour Based Safety(BBS) in industry for Interdependent Safety Culture” on 17th January 2020 at Delhi BESAFE’S Fourth Annual Conference on Theme “Sustainable Behaviour Based Safety(BBS) in industry for Culture” Interdependent Safety” was held at the SCOPE complex, lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) as an application of behavioural science has been widely accepted worldwide as an important tool of building a safety culture in industry, helping in achieving zero accident.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Mr. Sushil Agarwal – chief operating officer from STL-Sterlite Technologies limited–NSBand the dignitaries of the BESAFE forum. He further motivated the participants through his inaugural address and upraised stating quality and safety are prime success factor for any organization.

STL bagged the corporate BBS award forcontinued implementation of Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) at sites of STL services business during the year 2019.The award was received by Mr. Sushil Agrawal –Chief operating officer, Ms. Radha Rao- QHS Head & Mr. Arun Prakash-EHS Lead – Central.

Ms Radha Rao addressed the forum by thanking for award and stated that “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” and it’s our first step towards the Behavioural Based Safety at STL and will do the best in long waycontinualimplementation.

In addition, Mr. Arun prakash also represented as a speaker for open debate topic on “Sustainability of BBS at Sterlite” and same was well received by member of Forum and participants This Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) conference is an opportunity to understand, benchmark your own Company’s safety culture with national and international practices and interactions with corporates. About 200 industry representatives participated to focus on behavioural aspects of safety as per ISO 45001 standards. Organizations that don’t consider behavioural aspects of safety are safe only accidentally, as unsafe behaviour is the root cause of all accidents worldwide.

The daylong session put the conference deliberations into a realistic perspective towards main theme of this national conference linking past, present and future of safety.
